6/30/16 – “Communication”
Clearly I was on a role creating Mandalas during the month of June. I had found a new release and I felt as though I was onto something. I started out with the intention of “communication.” I had no idea how I was going to convey that, but hey, art flows in this medium for me. Midway through the mandala I was talking on the phone with an old friend. My friend and I go way back and our conversations always last hours. I finished up the conversation on the phone at the base of the outer circles you see above. I then completed the mandala later the same night. The next day I went back to the piece and was amazed… there are ACTUAL sound-waves. It was then that this form of expression truly astonished me in ways I never thought possible. For once, I actually enjoyed looking at something that I created, I was amazed by it, and it certainly did not bore me.
